As vice president of the Rt. 1 Riders out of Boston, Cara Sartorelli cruises her 1986 Monte Carlo SS to the weekly, Thursday night show (from April to October, if you’re in the area) the club runs at a local burger joint. Cara’s Monte is absolutely stock and has a scant 17,000 miles on the odometer. Cara does all the work and maintenance herself and is really proud that her Monte is just as nice as some new cars today.

Curt Cutting of Templeton, Massachusetts, has built himself an outstanding 1970 Chevelle Malibu convertible restomod. The body was attached to a rotisserie and cleaned up. The suspension has been updated with Detroit Speed bits front and rear, as well as disc brakes all the way around. Under the hood is a 383 stroker and an M21 Muncie four-speed. Out back, the power goes to a 10-bolt with 3.55:1 gears.

Todd Hakes has run as quick as 9.95 at 136 in his 1968 Camaro. The Air Force veteran from Medford, Oregon, has owned his Camaro for the last 15 years. The burgundy paint and white stripes were applied 20 years ago and still look good enough to help Todd take home several awards over the years. The big-block displaces 612 cubic inches, thanks in part to the tall-deck Merlin III block and Eagle rotating assembly. On the dyno it pumped out 946 hp and 844 lb-ft of torque. A Hughes-enhanced Turbo 400 (5,300-stall) sends power to a 9-inch with Moser 31-spline axles and Truetrac posi and finally out to the M/T ET Street Pro 275 tires. Yeah, traction is tricky but we love the burnouts.
