Black Beauty

Riverside, California, is home base to a very versatile and well-prepared '69 Camaro raced by Randy Bowers. Currently powered by a 615ci big-block Chevrolet with conventional heads built by Bob Tietz, Randy's machine has seen a lot of progression and upgrades over many years up to its present form. After starting out as an E.T. bracket car way back in 1975, the car has since seen action in Super Gas, Super Comp, and even Top Sportsman class categories after receiving updates from sponsor Jack Ragan Enterprises (Nuevo, California). The car, which is well known for its rather "mongo" burnouts, will run deep into the 7-sec e.t. zone at 170 mph. Randy's racing program receives highly valued assistance from crew members Jack Ragan, Bruce Conradson, Ed DeStaute, and Bob Richmond during each season's NHRA Pacific Division circuit racing warfare.

XDR X-Pertise!

Brant Campbell (Amarillo, Texas) competes with his '73 Camaro in the "X-treme Drag Radial" Fastest Street Car racing category. His machine is one of the fastest owner-driven, homebuilt race cars ever put together for that specialized genre, which is restricted to a 275 street radial tire. Brant purchased his Camaro in 2008 as an unfinished roller. But it wasn't until 2010 before he hit the track for the first time. In 2011, Brant wheeled it to the overall PSCA Extreme Drag Radial points championship. The motor program features a Dream Chaser Racing Engines-assembled 540ci big-block Chevy. That engine, which features Big Chief heads and a single Precision Turbo PT118 turbocharger has already propelled Brant to an amazing e.t. of 6.928 at 212.09 mph, making him one of only four racers in class history to dip into the 6s. His 212.09 mph is also a world record in the 275 tire class. Brant is sponsored by Cardiology Center of Amarillo, Eastern Audio, Precision Transmission, Hyperaktive Performance Solutions, Lil John's Motorsports Solutions, and Drury Automotive. His crew consists of Nathan Munson (crew chief); wife, Stephanie; Christopher Munson; Terry Thompson; and Richard Crich.

Pride of Jersey

The father and son team of Steve and Dave Ficacci campaign one of the most consistently successful Camaros in the Northeast. Based in Whippany New Jersey, this Camaro, which has competed in both A and B Stock trim, features a 375hp 396ci engine self-built by Steve Ficacci Racing Engines. The car's history includes original builders Bobby and Joey Warren of North Carolina, and also a stint running small-block (350ci) engines before being switched to a big-block engine program in 2006. The car's list of success is a long one that includes NHRA divisional and national event wins and, most recently (2013), an appearance in the highly prestigious Jegs Sportsman All-Stars event at Chicago. The car currently holds both ends of the NHRA B/SA record at 10.08 seconds and 130.77 mph.

Lady in Red!

For the last five years, stay-at-home mom Yvonne Lucas' Pro Mod Camaro has been an ongoing and very positive project. Yvonne, in conjunction with her husband, Mike, and crewmember Mike Stevenson have continued to refine their car into one of the best-looking and best-running machines within West Coast fast door-slammer racing circles. Originally built by Redline Race Cars in Yvonne's home state of Washington, the '68 features an 846ci nitrous-injected engine program from Reher-Morrison, a Tim McAmis Camaro body, and paint and airbrushing by Chris Marshall and Jason Proute, respectively. The car, which is truly race-day flexible, competes within numerous Pro Mod and fast street car circuit events both in the U.S. and Canada and has run a best of 6.30 sec. at 224 mph. Yvonne is always a popular attraction with fans, and her team receives valued backing from Speedwire Systems, Scribner Welding, Pro Torque, and Lithium Pros.
